How to actually do what you love
One of my favorite topics:
How to pick your niche(s).
The conventional advice is just so bad.
“Go for the lowest hanging fruit”
“Pick the one that makes the most $$”
This advice was given to me over and over.
I bring it up regularly because I think it’s important…
Even when you’ve been in business for awhile…
But especially when you’re brand new.
It’s good to do the Steve Jobs “morning mirror” check:
“I have looked in the mirror every morning and asked myself: ‘If today were the last day of my life, would I want to do what I am about to do today?’
And whenever the answer has been ‘No’ for too many days in a row, I know I need to change something.”
Let me give you an example where the answer was “No” for me:
I tried a few different business ideas earlier this year…
One was time sensitive and could make a lot of $$.
But I just didn’t enjoy it.
This specific opportunity didn’t feel good or right for me.
Doesn’t matter if it’s a great opportunity for other people.
It’s true:
Almost any topic or niche can be monetized…
Build a business over a topic that excites you!
