Foundations of an email list

Some people requested that I talk more about email marketing…

So I’ll briefly talk about a couple foundational principles.

First, whoever is on your list matters a lot…

I started my list just by asking people on social media if they want to get my marketing tips.

You can run ads to get your subscribers…

Do list swaps…

You have a lot of options but you have to commit to it.

Secondly… make sure you send them stuff they want.

It’s obvious and simple but a lot of people miss this.

They don’t know what to write to their list.

Well, who’s on your list?

What do they want help with?

Send them that.

Your emails should be targeted..

You should be in control of who is coming on your list…

Because you identify ahead of time what you want to talk about…

And go find people who are interested in that.

Don’t overcomplicate this.

Thirdly… stay consistent.

This becomes more obvious as you keep going..

Because you have to endure the days when it looks like it’s not working..

It IS working…

But it’s like building muscle at the gym or losing weight..

You can’t always tell in the moment..

You have to track progress over a period of time.

Show up every day with the foundational principles in this email…

And you’ll look up one day to have a monetized list.
