Reader is addicted to procrastination
Got this email in from subscriber A.J.
“I'm into email marketing and would therefore like to hear more about this topic.
You can share resources(books, courses, experts to follow...etc)
Another thing you can talk about is how to overcome procrastination.
I have taken a lot of notes from your emails which are loaded with value.
I'm grateful to have landed on your list, seriously.”
I asked A.J. for more specifics on his issue with procrastination…
He wrote back:
“I procrastinate on taking action. For example,
I always feel I'm not ready to approach a prospect.
I tell myself,’Let me read one more book, watch one more Youtube, one more...’
Before I know it,a month is gone!”
First of all, thanks A.J. for subscribing and reading my emails…
I can tell you’re really interested in doing email marketing.
Tbh, it may be awhile before you feel “ready” for much…
Because you haven’t worked out a system or process for yourself.
If you keep moving up higher and higher levels…
You’ll frequently move out of your comfort zone.
This won’t be the first time you do something new or different.
So just watch… you finally approach the prospect…
But when you get them to say yes to a phone call…
Then what? You’re not ready.
Of course you’re not, you haven’t done it before.
There’s a level of acceptance you’ll need to move forward.
Give it your best educated guess until you have it down pat.
There are lots of scripts for you to follow too…
So you don’t even have to guess. Just follow a proven script.
And if you don’t get a response from anyone for awhile… that’s normal.
That’s just how it goes.
If you’ve ever been on a dating app, it’s like that.
Most people will be on there for months and go out with at least a few people before they get in a relationship.
Just think of it like you’re trying to find a match between you and your new client.
In the meantime, I give the highly unpopular yet completely brilliant advice to build your own email list and brand yourself.
This gives you so many options and teaches you so much about email marketing.
Well, I gotta jet to the gym soon after this rainy Austin traffic clears…
Cheers and good luck A.J.
I’m here for you
