"It sure feels like a third world country sometimes!"

I just signed up for a gym membership…

It’s the closest to my house.

And of course, we had a hard time getting the internet to work at the gym so we could set up my membership.

“Today has just been horribly slow for the internet!!” the gym staff said.

I asked them what internet they use…

Since T Mobile, Spectrum (Time Warner Cable) and AT&T don’t work at my place.

The general manager told me she had to get an expensive satellite set up at her house.

And that she can practically touch the house next to her…

But can’t use the same internet service provider as them.

I told her that I told my email list about my internet troubles…

And that some third world country people think we live in a third world USA.

“It sure feels like a third world out here sometimes!!” she exclaimed.

“Especially with the internet!!”

Now I don’t know what to think anymore…

Is this third world USA or not?

Well, what I know is…

The gym is kind of crappy and they charge twice as much as my other gym membership that I use when I’m in Austin.

But they have a monopoly… they’re the only ones out here who offer what I want.

So I coughed up the $$…

Again going to my point - who are you marketing to?

How do you position yourself?

Have you made yourself valuable enough that you practically eliminate all other options?

It’s possible to find that perfect spot with your services and marketing so that people have no choice but to choose you and pay your prices.

Hit reply with your current positioning if you want to talk through it with me.
