Your Preferences Might Cost You
You are not the same as your audience...
A consult client told me this earlier this week:
"I only send emails once a week because I hate getting too many emails.”
She has a small list, and only emails them once a week…
I bet she’s lucky if they even remember who she is…
And she’s probably missed out on sales even with a small list…
All because of one huge assumption:
She thinks she is her target audience.
Big mistake.
It’s a common mistake too.
Just because YOU don’t like to get frequent emails doesn’t mean your list feels the same way.
If your emails are thoughtful, interesting, entertaining, and valuable…
People will want to hear more from you.
If your emails aren’t that exciting, then they won’t.
Simple as that.
And what any good copywriter knows is…
The way you show up to write matters a lot.
Your readers can feel your energy.
Your mental, emotional, and energetic states all leak into your copy and content.
The best email marketers and copywriters email often…
And many of them get hyped up and excited before they sit down to write.
Because the more you show up in the inbox with value…
And the type of energy they can’t get anywhere else…
The more trust, connections, relationships, and sales you build over time.
Here’s what I’d say to the “I only email once a week” people:
If people unsubscribe…
Then good… they weren’t your buyers anyway.
If they love your emails…
They’ll open, engage, and buy.
If they ignore them…
You weren’t top of mind enough.
But if the problem is that your emails aren’t damn good…
Then you gotta fix that.
Because the goal isn’t to email less.
The goal is to email so damn well that people can’t wait to read the next one.
So tell me…
How often do you email your list?
And do you think you could be emailing more?
I see you feeling doubtful and anxious…
You think you’re “bugging” them.
Time to start sending them damn good content that makes them excited.
Hit reply and let me know your questions and concerns about email.

P.S. If you’re still on the fence about emailing more…
Just know that every time you don’t send a damn good email…
Someone else is showing up in your audience’s inbox…
Getting their attention…
Making them laugh…
And selling to them instead.
